Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction projects from initial enquiry through to tender adjudication and contract award. Working closely with internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and supply chain partners, you will take ownership of all estimating and cost planning activities throughout the pre-construction process.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the preparation, submission, and review of tenders and cost plans.
• Produce accurate estimates from concept stage through to detailed tender submissions.
• Price projects from first principles, including material procurement and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare quantities and cost plans from limited design information.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of the pre-construction lifecycle.
• Liaise with clients, design teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments throughout the tender process.
• Attend tender meetings, negotiations, and project handovers.
• Assess project risks, opportunities, and market competition.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners.
• Prepare tender settlement documents and adjudication reports.
• Ensure compliance with company estimating procedures and commercial requirements.
• Support the development and mentoring of junior estimators, trainees, and graduates.
• Contribute to business development activities and client engagement opportunities.
• Maintain and develop estimating databases and cost information systems.
• Work with estimating software and digital take-off tools to produce accurate cost assessments.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Proven experience in a Senior Estimator or Estimator role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of estimating practices on large-scale building projects.
• Experience working across framework agreements and traditional tendering processes.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Experience preparing cost plans, tender submissions, and procurement packages.
• Proficiency in estimating software and digital take-off systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.

Desirable

• Degree or HND qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
