About the School

Reed Education are working with a specialist SEN setting that operates across two rural sites on the outskirts of Taunton, offering a calm, nurturing, and highly supportive learning environment. The school is designed to meet the needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours, blending specialised teaching facilities with the benefits of its countryside locations.

With a high staff-to-pupil ratio, students benefit from personalised support, including 1:1 provision and small group learning. A strong emphasis is placed on developing social skills, independence, and collaborative working, helping pupils build confidence and prepare for life beyond education.

The Role

The school are seeking a passionate and committed SEND Teacher to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching for pupils with complex needs. You will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports both academic progress and personal development.

You will model professionalism, uphold core values, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and nurturing school culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to a wide range of learning styles, particularly within PSHE
\n
• Develop personalised learning pathways to support individual pupil progress
\n
• Support and encourage pupils in independent learning and research
\n
• Provide targeted support to individuals as required
\n
• Prepare and manage teaching materials and resources effectively
\n
• Promote safe use and care of equipment and learning environments
\n
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider school community
\n

About You

\n
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential
\n
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a SEND setting or similar provision
\n
• Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
\n
• Resilient, patient, and committed to making a difference
\n
• Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
\n
