We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Morecambe. This role involves working on a 1:2:1 basis with a child in reception. The position is ideal for someone who is familiar with Makaton or is willing to undertake training before September 2026. This is a morning-only role with the potential to increase hours based on the pupil's requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work closely with a reception-aged child on a 1:2:1 basis, focusing on their educational and developmental needs.
\n
• Implement learning activities and support mechanisms under the guidance of the lead teacher.
\n
• Use Makaton to communicate effectively with the child, enhancing their learning experience.
\n
• Monitor the child’s progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
\n
• Adapt to the child's educational and emotional needs, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or a similar role in an educational setting is preferred.
\n
• Knowledge of Makaton or willingness to undergo training before the start date.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
\n
• Commitment to the full academic year with a start date of 1st September 2026.
