Salary: £63,600 - £83,500 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Morson are recruiting for a Lead C&I Engineer to join one of the UK's most exciting and innovative engineering programmes.

\n

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the development of next-generation Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology, helping to deliver the communication and information systems that will support the safe, secure and reliable operation of future nuclear power stations.

The Opportunity

\n

As a Lead C&I Engineer (ICT), you will provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of communication and information systems within a nuclear power plant environment.

\n

Working as part of the Control & Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for the specification, design, integration and verification of critical ICT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, resilient and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Lead the design and development of ICT, telephony, radio, broadcast and data network systems
  • \n
  • Develop system architectures and translate functional requirements into technical solutions
  • \n
  • Produce system specifications, design documentation and verification plans
  • \n
  • Support design governance, technical reviews and lifecycle management activities
  • \n
  • Provide technical oversight of suppliers and act as an intelligent customer
  • \n
  • Collaborate with wider engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • \n
  • Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
  • \n
  • Lead technical delivery activities across multidisciplinary engineering programmes
  • \n

What We're Looking For

\n

We are interested in speaking with engineers who have experience designing and delivering communication and information systems within complex engineering environments.

\n

You may come from Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Utilities, Transportation, Telecommunications or other highly regulated industries.

\n

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly advantageous:

\n

  • Telephony and Unified Communications
  • \n
  • Radio Communications (TETRA, DMR, P25, LTE/MCX)
  • \n
  • Broadcast and Public Address Systems
  • \n
  • Data Networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SDN, SD-WAN)
  • \n
  • Network Security Architecture
  • \n
  • Remote Access and Network Management Technologies
  • \n
  • Data Centre Networking Infrastructure
  • \n
\n

You will also have:

\n
    \n
  • Experience delivering ICT systems throughout the full engineering lifecycle
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of resilient system design, redundancy and fault tolerance
  • \n
  • Knowledge of standards such as IEC 62443
  • \n
  • Experience managing suppliers and technical stakeholders
  • \n
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • \n
  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
  • \n
