FLT Driver / Picker

Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK distributor of timber, wood-based panels and decorative surface materials. With a long-standing reputation for quality products, excellent customer service and investment in their people, our client supplies businesses across a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, shopfitting and furniture production. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced FLT Warehouse Operative / Wood Panel Picker to join their busy warehouse team in Wakefield. Hours: Monday to Friday 2:30pm - 11:59pm Temporary - Permanent Key Responsibilities Operating a Counterbalance FLT to move timber and wood panel products safely around the warehouse. Picking customer orders accurately using pick sheets and warehouse systems. Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently. Handling large sheet materials and timber products. Carrying out stock movements and replenishment. Checking products for quality and reporting any damage. Assisting with goods-in and goods-out activities. Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures. Working as part of a close-knit warehouse team to meet daily customer deadlines. Skills: Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent). Previous warehouse experience. Experience handling timber, wood panels or other bulky materials would be highly advantageous. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work safely in a busy warehouse environment. Reliable, hardworking and a positive team player. Comfortable with manual handling duties as part of the role
