Debt Capital Markets Lawyer – EMEA Legal Department, London. 2‑4 years post‑qualification, junior lawyer in an in‑house role supporting MUFG’s Capital Markets Group.

• Provide comprehensive legal advice, review, draft and negotiate documentation for debt capital market transactions across multiple product lines.

• Support structuring and establishment of new products and innovative business initiatives within the Capital Markets Group.
\n
• Engage directly with clients during negotiations, explaining complex products to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
\n
• Offer strategic legal counsel on regulatory matters, reputational considerations and documentation issues related to capital market activities.
\n
• Deliver training sessions on legal and regulatory developments to employees across the firm.
\n
• Participate actively in working groups and committees within MUFG to contribute expertise to broader organisational projects.
\n
• Efficiently manage relationships with external law firms while ensuring prudent control over legal spend.
\n
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, identifying potential conflicts and escalating appropriately.

• Maintain strict adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements while supporting both business arms.

• University degree in law with 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience at a major law firm or significant financial institution.
\n
• Robust technical understanding of debt capital markets transactions and commercial awareness of current market trends and regulatory changes.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills for building stakeholder relationships across diverse teams.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities to explain intricate legal concepts to non‑specialist audiences.
\n
• Proven experience operating successfully within team‑oriented or matrix environments across varying seniority levels.
\n
• Proactive enthusiasm for driving positive change and accountability for results.
\n
• International outlook with pragmatic problem‑solving skills for commercial settings.
