Associate Director

In Edinburgh, we are looking to recruit an Associate Director for our Project & Programme Management Team to support high‑quality delivery and client relationships.

Role & Responsibilities\n

• Lead and manage the full life cycle of construction projects, ensuring delivery of high‑quality outcomes using best practice methodology.
\n
• Act as the primary client interface, demonstrating technical expertise, managing accounts, governance and resources.
\n
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, providing guidance, leadership and technical support.
\n
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment aligned with AtkinsRéalis values.
\n
• Own commercial success of projects: budgeting, cost control, contract administration, and financial governance.
\n
• Lead preparation of fee proposals, bid submissions and new business opportunities in partnership with sector and account leads.
\n
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional development.
\n
• Apply rigorous quality assurance and environmental management practices in compliance with organisational policies.
\n
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legal, technical and industry developments influencing project execution.
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a construction‑related discipline.
\n
• Member of a recognised professional institution (MRICS, MAPM or equivalent).
\n
• Proven experience in a client‑facing project management role, ideally in Development, Commercial Property or Public sectors.
\n
• Hands‑on experience acting as NEC Project Manager and administering standard UK building contracts (NEC, SBCC, JCT).
\n
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and client‑relationship management skills.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to deliver successful projects through recognised project management methodologies.
\n
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation relevant to the UK construction industry.
\n
• Valid UK driving licence.
\n
• Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

Security Clearance\n

This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be contingent upon obtaining the necessary level of clearance through the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) process. Candidates must be able to provide proof of UK residency for at least five years.
